The military parade:azair (the Great Mosque of Algiers), took place in the presence of Algeria’s guests who came from brotherly and friendly countries, senior state officials, members of the government, members of the revolutionary family and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria. Before kicking off the parade, the president of the Republic, accompanied by the chief of staff of the People’s National Army, General Said Chanegriha, escorted by cavalry troops of the Republican Guard and a motorcycle squadron, reviewed the formations participating in the military parade representing Algerian Army forces, while 70 cannon shots were being fired.
According to Algeria Press Service, in a speech marking the 70th anniversary of the glorious Revolution, the president of the Republic stated that “the commemoration of this memorable anniversary representing glory, dignity and pride, is an opportunity to recall that Algeria, which defeated colonialism yesterday, continues to achieve victories throu
gh its children, who are faithful to the message of the valiant martyrs.” The president also welcomed Algeria’s guests, thanking them for attending the commemoration of this anniversary, which highlights Algeria’s significant role in establishing security and stability in the region and its unwavering support for just causes and the defense of the right of peoples to peace and development.
Furthermore, the president commended the People’s National Army, all security bodies, and the units positioned along the border for their unwavering readiness to defend the country. He emphasized their commitment to protecting the air space and coasts, and their willingness to sacrifice to preserve the legacy of the valiant martyrs and defend the Republic and its achievements.
