GCC Secretary General attends GCC Ministers of Education meeting

Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), attended the seventh meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Education in GCC countries, in Muscat.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Omani Minister of Education.

The secretary general said that Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the Cooperation Council countries pay great attention and keenness on education and keeping abreast with all the changes and modern developments related to it.

Albudaiwi extended to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Sultan of Oman, appreciation for hosting this meeting.

He also thanked Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries, for the continued and ongoing support for joint Gulf action, as well as the tireless efforts to enhance the educational process and raise the efficiency of the education system in the GCC countries.

The meeting’s agenda included several topics on enhancing the process of joint Gulf action, and the most important of these topics are the decisions of the Supreme Council of the GCC countries and the Ministerial Council, the committee’s work plan, and cooperation to achieve the fourth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

It will discuss the impacts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on education, and information security for students, in addition to what was presented by the Ministry of Education in Oman regarding cooperation in exchanging expertise and experiences related to artificial intelligence’s role in the educational process, and instilling the principles of financial culture among school students in the GCC countries.
