Algiers: President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a delegation from the American company Chevron at the presidency in Algiers on Tuesday. The meeting underscores a significant engagement between Algeria and Chevron, highlighting potential advancements in energy collaboration.
According to Algeria Press Service, the meeting was attended by several key figures, including the Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Republic, Boualem Boualem, Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy Mohamed Arkab, and CEO of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi. Their presence signals the importance of the discussions in the context of Algeria’s energy sector.
Following the meeting, Joe Cook, Chevron’s vice-president responsible for business development, expressed optimism about the future of negotiations. He stated that the session “encourages us to move forward with the negotiations, in line with the agreement in principle, and we look forward to continuing the discussions.” This indicates a positive outlook for continued collaboration between Chevron and Algerian entities.
