Industrial Businesses Called Upon to Bring Integration Rate to No Less than 50%

Algiers: The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, said Monday in Algiers that the Algerian industrial companies are called upon to increase the national integration rate, mainly in the electronics and household electrical appliance industries, stressing the need to raise this rate to no less than 50%.

According to Algeria Press Service, opening the 56th International Trade Fair, the president expressed satisfaction with the progress made in recent years by national public and private companies in these industries. He urged operators to increase the national integration rate and work towards “achieving a 100% rate” in the sector.

During his visit to the stands of several companies, including manufacturers of refrigerators, air conditioners, and televisions, the president praised the quality of national products and their success both domestically and internationally. ree Zone Authority (Mauritania), President Tebboune proceeded to the stand of the Algerian General Mechanics (AGM-Holding). There, he emphasized the importance of meeting domestic needs before focusing on exports.

He urged the management of AGM-Holding, which produces equipment for public works, construction, and agriculture, to adopt a 24-hour working system to “meet the needs of the domestic market and then move on to exports.”

At the Ministry of National Defence’s pavilion, accompanied by Deputy Minister to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, General Saïd Chanegriha, President Tebboune received a briefing on the various industries and production facilities of the People’s National Army.

Earlier in the day, President Tebboune inaugurated the 56th Algiers International Fair, themed “For Mutual and Sustainable Cooperation.” Upon his arrival at the Exhibition Palace, he was welcomed by Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui, General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of th
e presidency of the Republic, Boualem Boualem, and other members of the Government.
