Rome: The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, was officially welcomed in Rome by Italy’s President, Sergio Mattarella, as part of his visit to this friendly country. The welcome ceremony took place at the Quirinal Presidential Palace, following Italian protocol and traditions.
According to Algeria Press Service, after the national anthems of both countries were played, President Tebboune reviewed a detachment of the Italian Republican National Guard, which rendered honors to him. President Tebboune then greeted senior Italian officials who were present to welcome him and took a commemorative photo with his Italian counterpart.
Arriving in the Italian capital on Tuesday, President Tebboune is leading a large delegation and will chair the Algerian side of the 5th Algeria-Italy High-Level Intergovernmental Summit. This visit is of great significance in strengthening the historical ties of friendship and enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors between the two nations.
