Morocco’s National Police Open Days Draw Record 2.4 Million Visitors

El Jadida: Nearly 2.4 million people attended the 6th edition of Morocco’s National Police Open Days, setting a new record for the civic event held this year in the coastal city of El Jadida from May 17 to 21, the General Directorate of National Police (DGSN) said on Wednesday.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the event, staged at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center over more than one hectare, featured 50 thematic booths showcasing the roles, tools, and technologies of the Moroccan police. Attendees included over 1,900 school groups, 1,500 civil society organizations, and representatives from 187 media outlets.

The Open Days highlighted police specializations-from forensics to digital platforms like ‘Ibalagh’ for reporting online violence-as well as high-tech innovations such as the AI-powered ‘Aman’ patrol vehicle. A dedicated area also displayed historic police vehicles and equipment dating back nearly seven decades.

This year’s edition attracted visitors from across El Jadida and surrounding regions, including Casablanca, Settat, and Safi, and was amplified online through official DGSN channels, generating over 29 million views and over 1,200 media activations.

In parallel, a children’s area using interactive tech and VR tools aimed to build public trust from a young age. Public demonstrations by canine and cavalry units, as well as musical and tactical displays, further underscored the police’s commitment to community engagement.

The event also featured seminars on security and civil rights, reinforcing DGSN’s efforts to foster transparency, institutional openness, and collaboration with academia and civil society.
