Morocco and Rwanda Strengthen Military Ties with New Cooperation Agreement

Rabat: Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, received Rwanda’s Minister of Defense, Juvenal Marizamunda, on Wednesday. The meeting, held under High Royal Instructions, marks a significant step in the consolidation and diversification of bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the visit culminated in the signing of a military agreement, witnessed by a high-level delegation on a working visit to Morocco. This agreement encompasses various areas of cooperation, including training, exercises, logistical support, technical assistance, military health, and the exchange of expertise. A key feature of the agreement is the establishment of a joint military commission, which will convene alternately in Rabat and Kigali.

Both military officials emphasized the important roles their countries play in promoting stability, security, and peace across the African continent. The discussions also highlighted several South-South cooperation and regional integration initiatives spearheaded under the leadership of His Majesty the King, which enhance Morocco’s position as a pivotal force for stability, security, and prosperity in Africa.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the officials expressed their mutual ambition to further strengthen the friendship between Morocco and Rwanda through the implementation of the newly signed defense cooperation agreement, as noted in the press release.
