Loyalty to Ancestors’ Sacrifices as Algeria’s Guiding Compass Towards National Unity

Algiers: The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed on Friday that loyalty to the sacrifices of our ancestors is the compass that guides Algeria, in this sensitive phase, towards consolidating the foundations of the national state and exalting unifying patriotism.

According to Algeria Press Service, in a message addressed to the Algerian people on the eve of the commemoration of the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious Liberation Revolution, the President wrote: “On this 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious Liberation Revolution, as we proudly celebrate the glory of generations who fought relentless battles throughout Algeria, we do so to turn our loyalty to their sacrifices into a wellspring of resolve and an authentic source nourishing a collective awareness rooted in our glorious history.”

“This is the compass guiding Algeria – during this critical phase – toward bolstering the pillars of the rising national state, and stoking the unifying national spirit among devoted patriots and active forces, especially the youth, to safeguard the country against the turbulent situation in our region and the severe conflicts and ruptures in international relations the world is facing today. We rely on our own capabilities, through a liberated, wealth-producing economic performance, and on the consciousness and patriotism of Algeria’s sons and daughters who, on this occasion, stand tall as builders of the present and future, walking in the footsteps of our righteous martyrs – may Allah envelop their pure souls in His mercy – driven by the determination of the sincere people working to advance the homeland and serve the people,” said the President of the Republic.

“On November 1st, we commemorate together the day the Algerian people sparked the immortal and blessed Liberation Revolution.. a historic and pivotal day that followed decades of popular resistance and national struggle – long, brutal and blood-soaked decades, during which the people endured tremendous hardships as they faced settler colonialism, standing against its wicked ambitions and aggression, and rejecting through all available means of resistance the seizure of their land, the violation of their history and the distortion of their identity,” concluded the President of the Republic’s message.
