Algiers: The Council of Ministers, during a meeting chaired by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has approved a new bill focused on the mining sector.
According to Algeria Press Service, the bill’s approval follows a series of guidelines outlined by the Council of Ministers. President Tebboune emphasized the strategic importance of mining for the State, highlighting the need for modern resources to advance this critical sector. He instructed the introduction of new technologies and scientific methods to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles in research and mining operations.
The president also pointed out the country’s significant mining potential, specifically citing the marble industry. He called for a comprehensive approach to maximize the sector’s effectiveness, urging more investment and detailed studies to secure the industry’s future for upcoming generations.
Furthermore, President Tebboune mandated the exclusion of certain rare earths from mining activities to preserve these resources for future generations.
