Algeria Celebrates National Day of People’s National Army, Highlighting Its Defensive Doctrine and Unity with Citizens

Algiers: Algeria marked the National Day of the People’s National Army (ANP) on Monday, an occasion established by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense. This day celebrates the deep connection between the Algerian people and their military, recognizing the ANP’s crucial role in nation-building and safeguarding the country’s unity and sovereignty.

According to Algeria Press Service, this connection is a source of pride for Algerians, evidenced by their strong participation in ANP-organized events, including the significant turnout at the military parade commemorating the 70th anniversary of the National Liberation Revolution. President Tebboune, who oversaw the parade, emphasized that it symbolized the cohesion between the people and the ANP, whose members fulfill their duties with patriotism and nationalism.

The President reiterated that the ANP’s doctrine is solely defensive, with its armament focused on protecting Algeria’s
sovereignty and contributing to regional and international peace, in line with Algeria’s commitments and constitutional principles.

Algeria continues to enhance its defensive capabilities, building a formidable Army that has made significant strides in modernizing its components, as noted by Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the ANP. This progress aligns with the legacy of the National Liberation Army (ALN), maintaining the same principles and values.

These advancements are attributed to the strategic leadership of the ANP High Command and the dedication of its personnel across various areas, including training and technological mastery. Recent exercises have demonstrated the Army’s operational effectiveness, as shown by its success in combating terrorism and organized crime.
