Morocco Writes New Chapter in History of Arab Participation at U-20 World Cup

Tunis: In an article titled “The Atlas Cubs Make Waves at the World Cup,” the newspaper highlighted that the Moroccan team managed to defeat the United States and reach the final four, “after a remarkable run throughout the tournament.”

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, looking ahead to Wednesday’s semi-final, where Morocco will face France, Alchourouk drew a parallel with their encounter three years earlier in the semi-finals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, adding that Morocco now hopes to “overcome the French giant to reach the first U-20 World Cup final in its history.”

Recalling previous Arab achievements in U-20 World Cups, the Tunisian paper noted that the Moroccan team finished fourth in the 2005 edition held in the Netherlands, after losing the third-place playoff to Brazil.

The national team booked its place in the semi-finals of the U-20 World Cup (Chile 2025) following a 3-1 victory over the United States on Sunday in Rancagua.
