Tangier Med Port Reshapes Global Trade

Tangier: Tangier Med is not just a port; it is an integrated ecosystem that combines industrial platforms, logistics facilities, and free zones, attracting large-scale investments.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the major Moroccan port has reduced reliance on Northern European ports and provided West Africa with a competitive hub.

Tangier Med has expanded in size and built a reputation for efficiency that has made it attractive to major shipping companies. The World Bank ranks it third worldwide in terms of performance. Connected to more than 200 ports in some 80 countries, the Tangier Med project has been carried out under the Guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with ambition, determination, and continuity, making it the key to success. It is Africa’s leading port for the eighth consecutive year and, for the past five years, also the top port in the Mediterranean, surpassing historic ports such as Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, and Piraeus.

A green port and showcase for Morocco’s ambitious goals in decarbonization and green hydrogen production, Tangier Med is both a logistics hub and a laboratory for ecological transition in a region that will be crucial in facing future climate challenges.
