Civil Aviation: Morocco’s Progress Commended by ICAO

Montreal: On this occasion, Morocco has been presented a certificate in recognition of the country’s progress in establishing an effective aviation safety oversight system. The certificate was handed to Morocco’s minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, by ICAO Council President, Salvatore Sciacchitano.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the document recognizes the progress made by the Kingdom in establishing an effective aviation safety oversight system and improving the effective implementation of applicable ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). This distinction highlights the Kingdom’s significant achievements in regulatory compliance, safety, and continuous oversight of the national aviation safety system.

In 2023 and 2024, Morocco hosted ICAO oversight missions covering various areas of safety, including aviation safety, air navigation safety, and airport certification. During these missions, ICAO noted and confirmed the significant progress made by the Kingdom in implementing the Organization’s SARPs.

Morocco is represented at the 42nd Session of the ICAO Assembly, held from September 23 to October 3rd, by a large delegation led by Mr. Kayouh. The Kingdom’s participation demonstrates its ongoing commitment to the sustainable development and security of civil aviation, as well as its willingness to contribute effectively to strengthening international cooperation in this strategic area.
