Algiers: President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, presided over a reception ceremony at the National Army Circle in Béni Messous, Algiers, on the evening of July 5, 2025, marking the 63rd anniversary of Independence Day and the Recovery of National Sovereignty.
According to Algeria Press Service, the ceremony paid tribute to senior executives of the People’s National Army, both active and retired, and was attended by high-ranking state officials. Upon arrival at the National Army Circle, President Tebboune was greeted by General Saïd Chanegriha, the Delegate Minister to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (PNA).
This event is part of the longstanding traditions of the PNA, aimed at commemorating significant historical dates and honoring the sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs. Attendees were treated to a rendition of the National Anthem by a Republican Guard musical ensemble and viewe
d a documentary titled ‘Victorious Algeria…Algeria of Edification and Fidelity to the Shuhadas’ Oath,’ produced by the Information and Communication Directorate/EM-ANP. The ceremony concluded with a commemorative fireworks display.
