Rabat: Upper House Official Haddad recently held a meeting with an Irish delegation, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in parliamentary dimensions.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Haddad welcomed this initiative, emphasizing the importance of communication and mutual understanding. He lauded the historical ties between Morocco and Ireland, founded on shared values of consensus, moderation, and solidarity. Haddad stressed the need to advance economic cooperation, promote trade, and boost investments between the two nations.
Haddad also commended Ireland’s stance on the Moroccan Sahara, which aligns with UN Security Council resolutions advocating for a fair and lasting political solution. He highlighted the significance of the Irish delegation’s visit, which provides an opportunity to witness the realities of Morocco’s territorial integrity and its commitment to sustainable development in the southern provinces.
During the meeting, Haddad outlined the reform and development initiatives under King Mohammed VI’s leadership, which position Morocco as a regional model in political and institutional reforms, infrastructure development, and investment promotion.
The discussion also emphasized Morocco’s African foreign policy, particularly its innovative migration management strategies. This policy is exemplified by enhanced air links with African countries and initiatives like the Atlantic Initiative, which aims to connect Sahel-Saharan countries to the Atlantic Ocean.
The Irish delegation expressed appreciation for Morocco’s sustainable development efforts, democratic strengthening, and stability consolidation. They committed to deepening bilateral dialogue, expanding cooperation, and encouraging investment and private sector involvement, seeking to create mutually beneficial partnerships across various sectors.
