Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan said that boosting commercial and investment activities with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates is at the helm of his Gulf tour agenda.
Erdogan’s airport statement on Monday came prior to embarking on the tour’s first leg; Saudi Arabia.
Trade between Turkiye and Gulf states over the past 20 years has shot up from USD 1.6 billion to USD 22 billion, noted Erdogan.
Moreover, the Turkish President spoke of crises in the Muslim world, saying that this calls for further negotiation and cooperation between Turkiye and Gulf countries.
Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey is organizing three forums in Saudi, Qatar and UAE along the line with Erdogan’s tour.
The Saudi-Turkish forum is set to be held in Jeddah today, whereas the Qatari edition is scheduled for Tuesday in Doha and the Emirati in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
