ALGIERS – The President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, on Wednesday, an extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Security Council, devoted to assessing the general situation in the country following the recent painful events, according to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic.
The statement read: “President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, an extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Security Council, devoted to assessing the general situation of the country following the recent painful events and the ongoing hostilities by Morocco and its ally. After “the security interests presented a sum of human and material damage caused by the fires in some states, especially the states of Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia, the President instructed all sectors to follow up on assessing the damage and taking care of those affected by the fires that proved the involvement of the terrorist movements (Al-Mak) and (Rashad) in igniting them. At the conclusion of the meeting, “the President of the Republic assigned the People’s National Army to acquire six (06) planes of different sizes directed to extinguish the fires , stressing the sanctity of national unity and, on the occasion, reiterating his appreciation for the solidarity gift of the Algerian people and his thanks to all the security services , civil protection , the health sector and the volunteer citizens for their Continuous great efforts to put out the fires .
