Saudi Arabia to pump additional $8 million to address existing danger from ‘Safer’ oil tank

Riyadh, The Assistant General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) for Operations and Programmes Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, and the Assistant Secretary-General and Regional Director for Arab Countries at the United Nations Development Programme Dr. Abdullah Al-Dardari, have signed in Riyadh a memorandum of additional financial contribution submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, amounting to 8 million US dollars, to address the existing danger from Safer oil tank anchored in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen, it was reported today.

The signing ceremony comes as an extension of the efforts provided by KSrelief, Saudi Arabia’s relief arm, to address the environmental and economic threat posed by the Safer reservoir on the Yemeni coast and neutralize its potential dangers, SPA reported.
