Riyadh to host first EU-Saudi Investment Forum

BRUSSELS, European Commission Executive Vice-President Sefcovic travels to Saudi Arabia on Sunday to attend the first Saudi-EU Investment Forum and meet government representatives.

On Monday, the EU official will represent the EU’s executive body at the first Saudi-EU Investment Forum on the theme ‘Fostering Economic Integration & Prosperity’, co-hosted by the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia and the EU, said a European Commission press release today.

He will deliver a speech in the opening ceremony and attend a plenary session and panel dedicated to the Clean Energy Transition and Net-Zero Industries.

He will also engage in discussions with public authorities, stakeholders and industry on mutual investment opportunities, in particular on energy and net-zero technologies.

The forum in general will address topics such as manufacturing, SMEs, transportation and infrastructure, and energy.

The EU is one of Saudi Arabia’s major trading partners, representing approximately 15 percent of the Kingdom’s global trade, and, to date, over 1,300 companies originating in the European Union have invested in the Kingdom.
