Algiers: The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received a congratulatory message from Pope Leo XIV of the Vatican, on the occasion of Algeria’s commemoration of the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious November Revolution.
According to Algeria Press Service, the Pope’s message expressed his heartfelt wishes for the happiness, harmony, and prosperity of the Algerian people. “At the outset of my ministry, having succeeded Saint Peter, the celebration of November 1st provides me with the opportunity to address my first words to the Algerian people,” Pope Leo XIV stated in his message.
The Pope further recalled his last meeting with President Tebboune, expressing his hopes for the Algerian citizens to be guided towards being peacemakers and brothers working for the common good. He emphasized the importance of being attentive to the cries of the poor and needy and safeguarding the dignity of every human soul. “May Allah bless you, Mr. President, along with all who support you and all the Algerian people,” the message concluded.
