President Tebboune Praises Algerian People’s Progress Across All Sectors

Tipaza: The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, commended on Saturday, in Tipaza, the Algerian people for meeting challenges in all sectors by drawing inspiration from the generation of the glorious Revolution of November 1954, affirming that with each step taken today, Algeria moves closer to joining the ranks of emerging nations.

According to Algeria Press Service, after following a presentation on the construction of ‘Fouka 2’ seawater desalination plant in Tipaza, which he inaugurated today, the President expressed his thanks to the ‘workers, technicians, engineers and managers’ who contributed to this project, emphasizing that this major achievement is ‘a source of pride.’

The President highlighted, ‘This is the Algeria that we all cherish, an Algeria that meets challenges by drawing inspiration from the generation of 1 November 1954, which succeeded in liberating our land from what was then the world’s fifth largest power (colonial power) with hunting rifles.’ He added that ‘this major achievement is a pride for victorious Algeria.’

He thanked all the workers, managers, and executives, as well as the energy and hydraulic sectors and Sonatrach for this great achievement, expressing satisfaction with ‘what has been accomplished so far.’

In this regard, the President emphasized that ‘with each step taken today, Algeria moves closer to joining the ranks of emerging nations, thanks to men and women who ensure that challenges are met in all sectors, particularly in hydraulics.’

The President also expressed satisfaction with ‘the technologies used in the construction of this mega station,’ assuring that fertile agricultural lands had been preserved in the realization of this project following an approach ‘allowing to meet citizens’ needs for drinking water without affecting agricultural lands.’ This is ‘an achievement we take pride in today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow,’ said President Tebboune.

He also mentioned similar projects completed in the provinces of Boumerdes, Bejaia, and El Tarf, as well as the Cap Blanc seawater desalination plant he inaugurated last Thursday in Oran.

‘Thanks to these projects, we have managed to meet citizens’ needs for drinking water. These are precious and invaluable efforts, particularly in this situation where the Maghreb region is moving towards water scarcity due to low rainfall, but thanks to God, we thought about seawater desalination three years ago, and it’s a wise solution,’ stated the President, promising to ‘find adequate solutions for the remaining regions of the country.’

The inauguration ceremony of this strategic project was attended by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (PNA), General Sad Chanegriha, the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Arkab, the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, Brahim Merad, the Minister of Water Resources, Taha Derbal, as well as executives from national companies in charge of construction.
