Algiers: The President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the Glorious Revolution at the Martyrs’ Sanctuary in Algiers, marking the 63rd anniversary of Independence.
According to Algeria Press Service, President Tebboune laid a wreath at the commemorative stele and recited al-Fatiha, the opening chapter of the Quran, in memory of the martyrs of the National Liberation War. The ceremony was a significant part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The President was joined by prominent figures including the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Azouz Nasri, the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Brahim Boughali, and Prime Minister, Nadir Larbaoui. Other attendees included the acting President of the Constitutional Court, Leila Aslaoui, deputy minister to the minister of National Defense, chief of staff of the People’s National Army, General Sad Chanegriha, Principal Private Secretary at the Presidency of the Republic, Boualem Boualem, members of the Government, and the Secretary General of the National Mujahideen Organization, Hamza Laoufi.
