Algiers: The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, signed a presidential decree on Monday granting a full pardon for the remainder of the sentence of convicted prisoner Mohamed El-Amine Belghit, the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
According to Algeria Press Service, the presidential pardon was issued pursuant to the Constitution, specifically Articles 91 (7 and 8) and 182. The decision was based on the advisory opinion provided by the Supreme Judicial Council, in line with Article 182 of the Constitution. President Tebboune’s decree officially grants a full pardon for the remainder of Belghit’s sentence.
