Algiers: President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, inaugurated the 56th Algiers International Fair (FIA) at the Exhibition Palace in Algiers. The event, organized under the theme ‘For mutual and lasting cooperation,’ marks a significant gathering of international and national stakeholders.
According to Algeria Press Service, President Tebboune commenced his visit at the Sultanate of Oman’s stand, the guest of honor at this year’s event. Accompanying him were the deputy minister to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, General Sad Chanegriha, along with Omani Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion, Qais Bin Mohammed Al Yousef, and other government officials.
The selection of Oman as the guest of honor reflects the strengthened Algerian-Omani relations, which have advanced following recent high-level exchanges between the two nations, leading to several bilateral cooperation agreements. The President also visited the Palestinian stand, which showcased its rich folk heritage.
During his tour, President Tebboune explored the Algerian General Mechanics (AGM-Holding) stand, where he was briefed on the company’s capabilities in agricultural equipment production. At the pavilion of the Ministry of National Defense, accompanied by Army General Sad Chanegriha, the President was provided insights into various industries and production units of the People’s National Army (PNA).
President Tebboune’s visit also included stops at the Naval Forces Command, the Central Establishment for Communication Equipment Renovation, and the National Office of Explosive Substances. He reviewed their operations and contributions to national defense.
Further, the President visited the National Institute of Cartography and Remote Sensing, and VMS company, which specializes in motorcycle manufacturing, to understand their key products and innovations.
