Algiers: The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message on Friday to mark International Women’s Day, emphasizing the pivotal role of Algerian women in the country’s development and honoring their historical contributions.
According to Algeria Press Service, President Tebboune highlighted the remarkable skills and qualifications of Algerian women, who excel in various fields and hold leadership and management positions within state institutions. He praised their success in entrepreneurship and their active involvement in civil society and associative actions, noting their commitment to enhancing societal performance.
President Tebboune also reflected on the historical struggles of Algerian women, acknowledging their courageous efforts during the Liberation Revolution. He paid tribute to female resistance fighters such as Lalla Fatma N’Soumer, Dzair Chaib, and Malika Gaid, among others, who exemplified courage and sacrifice for Algeria’s independence. The President expressed his wishes for a long life for the surviving freedom fighters and reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering women in senior leadership roles, aligning with Algeria’s goals for modernity and sustainable development.
