President Tebboune carries out intense activity in New York ahead of 78th UNGA

The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has had intense activity since Saturday in New York, the United States, including meetings and discussions with a number of country leaders, ahead of the 78th ordinary session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

The president of the Republic has held many meetings and discussions with counterparts from several countries, mainly focusing on bilateral cooperation as well as international and regional issues.

Early in the morning, President Tebboune received in his residence, in New York, his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, before meeting with the president of Switzerland, Alain Berset.

At the headquarters of the United Nations, he held discussions with his Iranian counterpart, Ebrahim Raisi, as well as President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana.

Some 140 world leaders are taking part in the works of the 78th UNGA session, which aims to relaunch the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, set in 2015.

Many world challenges, such as peace, progress and well-being, will be debated during the works of the 78th ordinary session of the UN General Assembly, chaired by the permanent representative of Trinidad and Tobago?, Dennis Francis.
