Algiers: The communications directorate of the presidency of the Republic has refuted claims that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune participated in an interview with foreign media, as circulated by numerous social media networks.
According to Algeria Press Service, recent reports from various social network accounts suggested that President Tebboune had given an interview to French newspapers. This alleged interview was later disseminated by several electronic media websites. However, the presidency’s communications directorate clarified in a statement that the interview was entirely fabricated by hostile social media accounts utilizing photomontage to deceive both national and international public opinion.
The communications directorate firmly denied the existence of any interview by the President with foreign media outlets and condemned these actions as scandalous and immoral. They highlighted the misuse of new information and communication technologies by individuals they described as deceitful mercenaries, operating anonymously from behind their screens.
The directorate urged media professionals, both in Algeria and abroad, to exercise diligence and verify the authenticity of such information through official sources.
