El Tarf: President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed Wednesday, in El Tarf, that the giant desalination plants recently built in the provinces of Oran, Tipaza, El Tarf, Boumerdes, and Bejaia, are a source of pride for victorious Algeria.
According to Algeria Press Service, in a speech delivered after listening to a presentation on the progress of the construction works of the ‘Koudiet Eddraouche’ desalination plant in El Tarf, which he inaugurated, the President of the Republic expressed gratitude to all workers, executives, and officials involved in completing these megaprojects. He specifically acknowledged the contributions of the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, the Minister of Water Resources, the CEO of Sonatrach, and all others who contributed directly or indirectly to the execution of these major projects.
The President emphasized that these megaprojects represent an honor for victorious Algeria. He expressed hope that the program will soon be completed with the inauguration of the Cap Djinet desalination plant in Boumerdes and another plant in Bejaia, finalizing the comprehensive project that spans from the far West to the easternmost regions through the central part of the country.
He underscored that these projects will leave their mark in history, adding that programs of this magnitude are rare in other countries in terms of financial investment and scale. He praised the unity and teamwork demonstrated by managers and workers who, despite challenging conditions, coordinated their efforts effectively.
The President of the Republic also expressed his hope to see the country realize other major development projects in the future.
The inauguration ceremony of this strategic project was attended by the Deputy Minister to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, General Sad Chanegriha, the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mining and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Arkab, the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, Brahim Merad, and the Minister of Water Resources, Taha Derbal, along with officials from the national companies involved in the construction works, as well as civil and military authorities of El Tarf province.
