NAM ministerial meeting welcomes President Tebboune’s role, initiatives

In the final document of NAM ministerial meeting, the participants welcomed the efforts made by President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in his capacity as coordinator of the African Union (AU) in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, notably amidst the intensified terrorist risks threatening the African States.

The participants also commended the proposal made by President Tebboune on the implementation of an African natural disaster response mechanism and the creation of an African fund to face the climate change effects.

The final document hailed the decision of the President of the Republic to grant USD1 billion to finance development projects in several African States, through the Algerian International Cooperation Agency for Solidarity and Development.

The same document emphasized the centrality of the Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in Mali, stemming for Algiers process, and underlined NAM’s support to the good offices of Algerian, as a leader of the international mediation in Mali and president of the monitoring Committee of the implementation of the Agreement.

As regards the Palestinian cause, NAM meeting, held in Baku, welcomed the financial and political support of President Tebboune to the Palestinian cause.
