Municipalities Minister inspects service projects in Muharraq

Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, has paid an inspection visit to Block 229 in the first constituency of the Muharraq Governorate. The visit is part of a series of visits for the third package of projects to develop roads, sanitation, and municipalities, approved by the Cabinet. The minister stressed that the ministry is working within its strategy to implement a number of service projects, which contribute to developing infrastructure, providing high-quality municipal and public services, and meeting the needs of citizens and residents. He added that the ministry is continuing its efforts to consolidate sustainable urban development and achieve national goals by implementing more projects that ensure the expansion of green areas and developing the infrastructure of parks and recreational places, in a way that enhances the quality of services provided to citizens and residents. Al Mubarak hailed the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to develop the infrastructure and establish service projects in various regions, affirming that the Ministry is moving forward in implementing the third package projects in accordance with the plans established within the Government Plan (2023-2026). The minister reviewed the future plans for developing the Busaiteen waterfront, where work will begin later this month. It includes providing games for people of determination, increasing sustainable lighting on the waterfront, and placing rubber flooring. He noted that the Busaiteen Seafront Corniche is a unique project, which will be built on an area of 62,791 square metres. The minister also reviewed the development of the project on Block 226, which includes replacing the playground floor, installing a canopy, placing seats for the elderly, and enhancing the lighting. He added that the 2,328-square-metre park project will be completed next year. On the other hand, Minister Al Mubarak affirmed that work on the Al-Saya Park in Busaiteen had already started, pointing out that this park is different in terms of its idea from the classic parks established by the Ministry. He explained that the 4,200-square-metre park will have no surrounding walls or buildings, but will be surrounded by trees and an irrigation network open from all sides, noting that it will contribute to increasing afforestation and greening in residential areas, and will reduce the negative effects of rising sand.
