Morocco’s RS Berkane Edge ASEC to Reach CAF Confederation Cup Semis

Berkane: RS Berkane advanced to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 1-0 home victory over C´te d’Ivoire’s ASEC Mimosas on Wednesday, sealing a 2-0 aggregate win in the quarter-final tie. Oussama Lamlioui netted the decisive goal in the 76th minute at the Municipal Stadium in Berkane, firing a low shot from the edge of the box to beat the Ivorian goalkeeper and secure progression for the Moroccan side.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Berkane, who also won the first leg 1-0 in Abidjan last week, weathered early pressure from the visitors before gradually imposing their rhythm in the second half. Twice champions of the competition (2020, 2022) and runners-up in 2019 and 2024, the Moroccan club now await the winner of the all-Algerian quarter-final between CS Constantine and USM Alger. The other semi-final will see Tanzania’s Simba SC face South Africa’s Stellenbosch FC.
