Rabat: In a statement, the DGAPR states that the detainee (A.Q.), mentioned in the video, is still alive and is currently being held at the local Arjat 2 prison, not at the local Aïn Sebaa prison, for complicity in affront against public officials in the exercise of their duties, affront against a body governed by law, and complicity in disseminating and distributing a montage of false statements and misleading facts via computer systems for the purpose of defamation.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Delegation adds that the person in question is currently serving an 18-month sentence following an initial decision, and not five years, as reported by the video’s author. The DGAPR also points out that the dissemination of such lies by the aforementioned person is part of a systematic targeting of a group of national institutions and bodies, in line with a broader plot to damage Morocco’s image and defame its symbols, in the service of hostile agendas.
