Kuwait calls on int’l community to act on Gaza situation

Kuwaiti permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hain called on the international community to take responsibility and stop the Israeli occupation aggression on Gaza and grant Palestinians their legitimate rights. This came in a speech by Ambassador Al-Hain at the opening of an event organized by Kuwait along with Belgium and the International Labour Organization (ILO), attended by several donor countries to support the occupied Palestinian territories. Ambassador Al-Hain pointed out that everyone agrees that the situation in Gaza was critical, given the current terrorist acts committed against the Palestinians in Gaza, the latest being the crime against the Palestinians in the Nuseirat camp. He also said that what was happening in Rafah was strong evidence of the violations of all international conventions by the Israeli occupation, noting the heart-wrenching sight of victims who were forcefully subjected to this war. In his speech at the international event, Am bassador Al-Hain urged the international community to unite and stand against the Israeli occupation oppression in occupied Palestine against Palestinian workers, and to provide urgent humanitarian aid. Ambassador Al-Hain stressed in his speech that Kuwait, based on its firm belief in the justice of the Palestinian cause, has not and will not hesitate to extend a helping hand and support them in achieving the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, within the 1967 borders. This meeting was an event that Kuwait and Belgium organized in cooperation with the ILO, it took place in Geneva in the United Nations office, the Palace of Nations. Its aim was to mitigate the effects of war and the devastating social and economic impacts of the current crisis in occupied Palestine on workers and employers which will be achieved through the ILO's recovery program within the broader framework of the United Nations' recovery program.
