Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg Explores Casablanca Memory Museum

Casablanca: The Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg visited the Casablanca Memory Museum – Villa Carl Ficke, accompanied by the President of the National Foundation of Museums (FNM), Mehdi Qotbi.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Grand Duke expressed his enthusiasm for exploring Morocco’s cultural landmarks during his visits to the Kingdom. He was particularly impressed by the museum, which chronicles the history of Casablanca from the early 20th century through its architecture and art.

The Grand Duke noted the city’s continuous growth and transformation, emphasizing the significance of culture in understanding a country. In a similar statement, FNM’s President Mehdi Qotbi highlighted the international cultural influence of Morocco, attributing it to the efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which have facilitated the development of numerous museums across the nation.

Qotbi remarked that, thanks to the Royal Vision, Morocco has emerged as a regional model known for its innovative and appealing cultural strategy. The Villa Carl Ficke, constructed in 1913, exemplifies Casablanca’s architectural and urban evolution. Over the years, it has undergone various transformations before being restored as a museum.
