Conclusion of Preparatory Activities for 16th Edition of Summer Camps for Al-Quds Children

Rabat: The 16th edition of the Summer Camps for Al-Quds Children is set to commence from August 10 to 26, under the stewardship of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency and in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication. This year’s camp aims to merge enjoyment with education through a series of activities that include educational trips and cross-cultural exchanges between Palestinian and Moroccan youth.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the selection process was rigorous, with 50 children aged 11 to 14 chosen from a pool of 450 applicants. The selection was undertaken by a committee comprising representatives from the Directorate of Education in Al-Quds, social workers, and five specialized supervisors. These supervisors will also accompany the children during their stay in Morocco to ensure a supportive environment.

The official program is slated to begin on August 12 with the launch of the “Summer School.” This initiative, organized by the Agency, is designed to benefit both
Moroccan and Palestinian children. The theme for this year is “Let’s Make Electronic Games a Tool for Education, Learning, and Entertainment,” featuring interactive workshops led by experts. These sessions will explore education for protection, artificial intelligence, and responsible entertainment through video games.

The camp’s agenda includes artistic and sports competitions between Al-Quds children and their Moroccan peers, along with tourist visits to cities such as Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan, M’diq, and Chefchaouen. These excursions aim to introduce the children to historical landmarks and major economic projects in Morocco, with a particular focus on infrastructure and large-scale sports facilities.

Every year, the campers look forward to Morocco’s national celebrations that coincide with their visit. This year, the children of Al-Quds will participate by performing artistic pieces, including the Moroccan national anthem and parts of the song “Nidae El Hassan.” These performances will be acc
ompanied by choreographies inspired by Palestinian heritage and traditional “Dabkeh” dances.
