Chairing the official opening of this year’s summer season in the province of Skikda, the Minister said that President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had granted major facilities to emigrants, which would help, he said, “to strengthen the feeling of belonging of Algerians to their homeland, wherever they may be, and enable them to spend their summer holidays among their loved ones.”
“The measures decided on by the Head of State will also facilitate formalities at all border, air, sea and land crossings, while improving the level of services due to our expatriate compatriots,” said Merad, adding that the facilities that will come into service in the country’s provinces and the planned programmes of cultural activities will help to support domestic tourism, which has experienced a ” revival over the last two years.”
This year’s summer activities will have a distinctly national flavour, and will be held under the slogan “The summer of Algeria, Our country brings us together.”
In the same context, Brahim Merad emphasised that the public authorities and the various partners were working to step up efforts to promote Algeria as a destination abroad, particularly following the great success of the tourism season in the Sahara.
The Minister of the Interior pointed out, in this connection, that the facilities provided for foreign tourists and the programmes designed to attract tourism to the country’s provinces will be extended and strengthened, which will inevitably have positive economic, social and cultural results.
According to Merad, the public authorities have given “top priority” to preparing the summer season properly, mobilising all human and material resources to ensure that citizens enjoy comfortable, peaceful and serene conditions, said the minister.
