CGEM and MEDEF to Host Strategic Morocco-France Economic Forum in Dakhla

Dakhla: The Confederation of General Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM) and the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF) are set to hold the Morocco-France Economic Forum on October 9 in Dakhla. This event follows a State visit by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, who, at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, affirmed that the present and future of the Sahara lie within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty, as stated in a joint declaration by CGEM and MEDEF.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the forum aims to further enhance the strong economic and trade relations between Morocco and France. The selection of Dakhla as the venue holds both strategic and economic importance, showcasing the region’s economic potential and reflecting Morocco’s major investments and openness at both regional and continental levels.

For French entrepreneurs, the event presents an opportunity to explore an emerging market that serves as a gateway between Europe and Africa. The high-level forum seeks to strengthen existing partnerships, identify new synergies, and consolidate cooperation between the French and Moroccan business communities.

Business leaders from both countries will have the chance to explore opportunities in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure and logistics, sustainable tourism and hospitality, agribusiness and food security, innovative services and digital technologies, as well as training and skills development.

This initiative is part of a long-term effort by CGEM and MEDEF. In April 2024, a business forum in Rabat attracted over 300 French and Moroccan entrepreneurs, resulting in a white paper that serves as a roadmap for entrepreneurial cooperation.
