Casablanca Marks ‘Transformation Milestone’ for Central African Republic, President Touad©ra Expresses Gratitude to HM the King

Casablanca: ‘Allow me to reiterate, on behalf of the Central African people and on my own behalf, our gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for his brotherly care to the success of this meeting,’ the Central African president mentioned in his closing speech at the two-day event, which raised $9 billion to finance the CAR’s NDP.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Touad©ra stressed that Casablanca ‘will now remain engraved in the collective memory as a new milestone in the transformation of the Central African Republic,’ believing that this Round Table enabled his country to share its vision for the future and show the world that it is ‘not only a territory rich in resources, but also and above all, a place of resilience, innovation, and opportunity.’

The Central African president highlighted that the aim of the meeting was not merely to mobilize public and private funds needed to implement the 2024-2028 NDP, but also ‘to forge a pact of trust and open a new chapter of cooperation with technical and financial partners.’

The CAR is ‘determined to position itself at the heart of regional and international dynamics,’ he asserted, adding that the Casablanca Round Table ‘seals an alliance between the ambition of a people and the trust of its partners.’

The closing session of the round table was attended by Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Omar Hilale, and Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) Ambassador Mohamed Methqal, as well as representatives from various regional and international organizations, donors, and the private sector.
