Burkina: Pan-Africanists ask the MPSR to move towards reliable and sincere partners

Ouagadougou, The Pan-Africanist Bloc section of Burkina Faso, on Thursday at a press conference, asked the Patriotic Movement for Safeguarding and Restoration (MPSR) to orient itself strategically and sovereignly towards reliable partners and sincere.

According to the charge d’affaires of the World Pan-Africanist Organization (OPAM) Issouf Sirima, the MPSR must “review its diplomatic and military partners to orient itself in a strategic and sovereign way towards partners capable of understanding the problems of Burkina Faso and ‘act promptly’.

“It is urgent, in our context of rebuilding and restoration, that we engage with reliable, sincere and prompt partners to provide us with quality services for the liberation, rebuilding and reconstruction of Burkina Faso as soon as possible,” said he added.

The Pan-Africanist Bloc recalled the era of bilateral relations between Burkina Faso and China Taiwan, which according to him had promised military equipment including combat and transport helicopters.

These materials were returned following the breakdown of relations between the two states, said Issouf Sirima.

After 24 years of diplomatic relations with China Taiwan, Burkina Faso separated from the island in 2018 to reconnect with mainland China.

For the charge d’affaires of the World Pan-Africanist Organization, the MPSR must ask mainland China for at least three helicopters, military equipment and the transfer of military technology.

The Pan-Africanists challenged the new authorities to only take decisions in the direction of assuring the populations of their former peace of mind, decisions that will allow them to fully recover the entire territory of Burkina Faso without delay.

“To European countries, we ask for full and complete respect for the sovereignty of African countries, that they know that no nation has a pre-square in Africa,” Mr. Sirima maintained.

As a reminder, soldiers grouped within the MPSR took power on January 24, 2022 by a coup d’etat by overthrowing former President Roch Kaboré, deemed incapable of eradicating the terrorism which has been raging since his advent to power 6 years earlier. .
