Algiers: Algeria has successfully completed the construction of a republican judicial system that is firmly backed by the people’s confidence, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced. As the Chairman of the High Judicial Council, President Tebboune delivered this affirmation during the opening ceremony of the 2024/2025 judicial year at the Supreme Court headquarters on Monday.
According to Algeria Press Service, President Tebboune emphasized the strength of the nation’s institutions, attributing this to the dedication of loyal and upright individuals, particularly judges, whom he commended. He assured the commitment to resolving their social, personal, and family issues to enable them to fulfill their crucial roles effectively.
The President expressed confidence in the measures taken to restore trust in the State and improve governance, highlighting the strengthened role of justice since the implementation of the new Constitution. He noted that the legislative reforms have aimed to promote public integrity
and combat corruption and abuses.
President Tebboune praised the commitment and professionalism within the justice sector, acknowledging their responsibility in upholding the law. He also discussed modernization efforts within the sector, which have improved performance and reduced bureaucracy, with further advancements anticipated, especially in digitization.
Reflecting on Algeria’s past challenges, President Tebboune recalled the detrimental influence of corrupt networks on honest officials. He also addressed the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court against officials of the Zionist entity for crimes in Gaza, highlighting Algeria’s advocacy against impunity and expressing gratitude to global allies, including South Africa, for their support.
