Algeria and Mozambique Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation and Solidarity

Algiers: Algeria and Mozambique, in a joint statement issued following the working visit by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, to Algeria, reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and maintaining the tradition of solidarity that has always defined relations between the two countries.

According to Algeria Press Service, the visit of President Daniel Chapo to Algeria, which took place from September 5-6 at the invitation of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, was part of efforts to strengthen the historic ties of fraternity and solidarity between the two nations. This visit coincided with President Chapo’s participation in the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), held in Algiers from September 4 to 10.

During his visit, President Chapo held a one-on-one meeting with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, where they focused on ways to fortify bilateral relations and revive economic and technical cooperation between Algeria and Mozambique. President Chapo
also extended his congratulations to President Tebboune on the success of the fourth Intra-African Trade Fair, highlighting its importance as a strategic platform for economic cooperation and partnerships across the continent.

In response, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune congratulated President Chapo on Mozambique’s 50th anniversary of independence, wishing the Mozambican people continued progress and prosperity. The two leaders agreed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Algeria and Mozambique by organizing cultural activities and conferences in both capitals.

They expressed appreciation for the strong historical ties between the two countries and reiterated their dedication to deepening bilateral cooperation while maintaining their tradition of solidarity. The leaders noted the increased pace of high-level visits in recent years, which have revitalized cooperation across various sectors, and emphasized the need to implement existing cooperation agreements, especially those re
lated to economic and commercial collaboration.

Furthermore, the two presidents underscored the necessity of activating the Joint Business Council, established in 2021, to provide economic operators from both countries with a permanent platform for discussing partnership opportunities.
