Algeria and Africa’s Longest Railway Bridge Nears Completion

Algiers: Construction of Algeria and Africa’s longest railway bridge, spanning 4.111 kilometers over the Oued Dawra riverbed near Bechar, is scheduled for completion by next October, the National Agency for Studies and Monitoring of Railway Investment Implementation said on Saturday.

According to Algeria Press Service, the bridge marks a significant infrastructure development in the region, promising to enhance connectivity and transportation efficiency. Once completed, it will stand as a landmark achievement in Algeria’s railway network, facilitating better movement of goods and people across the area.
