ALGIERS – On Saturday afternoon, a Spanish firefighting plane arrived in Algiers, with a capacity of 3,000 liters of water, to reinforce the means of fighting the fires that have erupted in several provinces of the country since last Monday.
Spain will send a second plane of the same type in the coming hours.
Last Thursday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced, in a speech to the nation, the prospects of two planes to extinguish the fires (type of Canadar) coming from Spain to contribute to the efforts to extinguish the fires.
He added that another plane coming from Switzerland will arrive in Algeria to participate in the firefighting operation.
