Algiers: The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, addressed a message on Saturday to the participants in the 4th African Startup Conference, read on his behalf by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb.
According to Algeria Press Service, President Tebboune emphasized that the conference is a significant opportunity to exchange experiences and foster entrepreneurship across Africa. He noted that the event’s slogan, “Proud of African Entrepreneurs,” serves as a testament to the potential of African youth who are turning challenges into opportunities and ideas into successful projects.
President Tebboune highlighted that the conference embodies the spirit of an ambitious Africa, aiming to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs who can compete globally while reinforcing the continent’s technological and economic independence. He pointed out the record-breaking participation, including over 25,000 attendees, 40 ministerial delegations, more than 200 exhibitors, and 150 investors and international experts, as evidence of the event’s importance.
The President extended a warm welcome to the Republic of Rwanda, the guest of honor, praising it as a model of digital transformation and innovation in Africa. He also underscored the significance of past conference sessions, which have led to initiatives like the African Union’s adoption of the Algiers Declaration and joint programs to support entrepreneurial talent and curb brain drain.
Furthermore, President Tebboune mentioned the previous session’s adoption of a roadmap for implementing the African Artificial Intelligence Strategy, which aims to pave the way for digital transformation and advanced technological development on the continent.
