Gov’t Head Engages With Anhui Officials to Strengthen Economic Ties

Rabat: The Head of Government of Morocco recently welcomed a delegation of senior officials and economic operators from China’s Anhui Province. The meeting aimed at exploring ways to enhance the economic partnership between Morocco and China, in accordance with the directives of Morocco’s King Mohammed VI and China’s President Xi Jinping, as outlined in a statement from the Head of Government’s department.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this meeting follows discussions initiated in September 2024 in Anhui Province, where the Moroccan delegation, led by the Head of Government, engaged with key Chinese economic operators. The dialogue underscored the growing Chinese investments in Morocco, particularly in the automotive sector. This influx of investment is pivotal in reinforcing Morocco’s position as a viable and appealing destination for global investors, while also contributing to job creation, which remains a crucial focus for the Moroccan government.

The meeting also addressed the topic of energy transition, offering a platform to discuss potential advancements in the bilateral partnership within this sector. This aligns with efforts to boost the development of renewable energy resources in Morocco, aiming to transform green energy into a significant economic driver.
