Algiers: The Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Sad Sayoud, affirmed on Monday in Algiers that Algeria is currently witnessing a new era of development, the positive results of which are clearly reflected through large-scale projects and intensive programs in several fields. Speaking on the occasion of the official launch of the Integrated Local Development Support Program “ADIL,” the minister stated that Algeria “witnesses a new era of development, reflected in the positive results of large-scale projects in the areas of housing, infrastructure, health, education, and social protection to improve the living environment of citizens throughout the country.”
According to Algeria Press Service, Sayoud added that Algeria “is currently recording promising economic indicators and concrete positive changes that are visible to all, thanks to the program of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who is leading the country with rigor and determination on the path to steady development, based primarily on the achievement of integrated and sustainable economic and social development at the local level, with a focus on the citizens.”
Recent years have seen major development efforts funded by the State, local authorities, and solidarity funds, resulting in the implementation of projects across all municipalities. This inclusive approach involves civil society and strengthens local economic capacities, especially in financially limited areas.
The state is empowering local authorities with reformed management systems and innovative governance methods. These reforms promote decentralization and encourage cooperation among local bodies to better address community issues. Civil society organizations are also being actively involved in shaping development priorities and managing certain local public services.
