Algiers: President Tebboune inaugurated the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) in Algiers, marking the commencement of a significant event attended by Heads of State, delegation leaders, and senior government officials. The opening ceremony highlighted the importance of the trade fair in fostering economic collaboration across the African continent.
According to Algeria Press Service, the first day of the event at the CIC is dedicated to ‘Algeria Day,’ organized by the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI). This segment of the program is set to focus on Algeria’s economic reforms and investment prospects, as well as the nation’s pivotal contribution to regional and global value chains.
Running from September 4th to 10th, the 4th IATF, themed ‘Gateway to New Opportunities,’ is a major gathering point for delegations from 140 countries and over 2,000 companies, including nearly 200 Algerian enterprises. The fair is anticipated to draw approximately 35,000 professional visitors, with expectations of con
cluding commercial and investment agreements valued at USD 44 billion.
The event is organized by Algeria in collaboration with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the African Union Commission, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat. The fair’s program is comprehensive, featuring a variety of themes and activities aimed at promoting intra-African trade and investment.
