Algiers: The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has conducted a partial reshuffle among court presidents and public prosecutors at the courts of justice, as well as court presidents and state commissioners at the administrative courts, according to a statement issued on Sunday by the Presidency of the Republic.
According to Algeria Press Service, ‘In accordance with Articles 92 and 191 of the Constitution and Article 49 of the Organic Law on the Statute of the Magistrature, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune carried out a partial reshuffle of court presidents and public prosecutors at courts of justice, as well as court presidents and state commissioners at administrative courts,’ the statement said.
As part of this reshuffle, a president was appointed for the Administrative Court of Appeal of Constantine. Nine court presidents and six public prosecutors at courts of justice were transferred, while fourteen judges were promoted to court president or public prosecutor positions.
Additionally, seven administrative court presidents and six state commissioners were transferred, and twenty-seven judges were promoted to administrative court president or state commissioner roles. Nine administrative court presidents and nine state commissioners were removed from office.
The reshuffle includes the following appointments: Court presidents for various courts including Adrar, Batna, Bejaia, Blida, Tebessa, Tlemcen, Algiers, Jijel, Annaba, Constantine, Boumerdes, Illizi, Tipaza, Naama, and Ghardaa. Prosecutors General at the Courts were also appointed for locations such as Oum El Bouaghi, Bejaia, Bechar, Tebessa, Tiaret, Tizi Ouzou, Constantine, Mascara, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Boumerdes, Tindouf, Khenchela, NSama, and Relizane.
Presidents of administrative courts were appointed for areas including Oum El Bouaghi, Biskra, Tebessa, Tiaret, Algiers, Djelfa, S©tif, Skikda, Sidi Bel Abbes, Annaba, Constantine, M©d©a, Bordj Bou Arreridj, El Tarf, Tissemsilt, Khenchela, Souk Ahras, Tipasa, Ghardaia, and Relizane. The President of the Administrative Court of Appeal of Constantine was named as Madjid Khalfouni. State Commissioners at administrative courts were also designated for Laghouat, Blida, Bouira, T©bessa, Tlemcen, Tizi Ouzou, Algiers, Jijel, Sada, Annaba, Guelma, Mostaganem, M’sila, El Bayadh, Illizi, Boumerd¨s, Tindouf, Khenchela, Ghardaa, and Relizane.
This reshuffle aims to breathe new life into the functioning of the courts, administrative courts, and administrative courts of appeal, and to improve the quality of their performance through the appointment of judicial experts who have proven themselves in the field of judicial work.
