Ljubljana: The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, highlighted the complete alignment between Algeria and Slovenia on various critical issues while affirming Algeria’s commitment to fulfilling Slovenia’s gas requirements.

According to Algeria Press Service, President Tebboune made these remarks during a joint statement with Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar after their discussions. The talks covered a wide range of topics, including illegal migration, artificial intelligence, space exploration, water, and environmental issues. President Tebboune emphasized the possibility of establishing robust relations between Slovenia, a European nation, and Algeria, a Maghreb and African state.

President Tebboune noted that Slovenia offers substantial opportunities for Algerian youth, underlining Algeria’s reliability in supplying gas to Slovenia. He assured that Algeria is prepared to adapt to future changes without adverse effects.

The president lauded Slovenia’s principled stance on the Palestinian issue, recognizing it as the first European nation to acknowledge the State of Palestine. He expressed hope that Slovenia’s stance would serve as a model for other countries, and he also appreciated Slovenia’s position on the Western Sahara issue.

President Tebboune reiterated his aspiration for a mutually agreeable solution between the involved parties under the United Nations’ guidance, advocating for the Western Sahara people’s right to self-determination through a referendum.
