Algiers: Algeria has embarked on a pioneering development path, with cultural advancement set to serve as its crowning achievement. President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed this during an address at the opening of the National Conference on Cinema at the International Conference Centre Abdelatif Rahal (CIC, Algiers).
According to Algeria Press Service, President Tebboune expressed his openness to proposals for establishing an elected national body to oversee the country’s film industry. He emphasized the importance of cultural advancement as a culmination of Algeria’s developmental efforts. Addressing stakeholders in the film industry, he highlighted the support for creating an overseeing body and encouraged recommendations during the conference.
The President reassured cinema professionals about resolving financing issues for artistic projects, affirming their freedom in artistic creations while maintaining respect for the nation. He announced readiness to finance training programs related
to the film industry both domestically and abroad, celebrating the rich legacy of Algerian cinema rooted in the revolutionary spirit of November 1954.
President Tebboune underscored the ongoing growth and flourishing of Algeria’s film industry, drawing strength from the nation’s legacy of resistance. He addressed external influences, asserting Algeria’s reliance on Allah and its people against manipulation attempts.
